In 1999 I undertook the Housing Industry Association - National Kitchen & Bathroom Association Kitchen Design course in Sydney, NSW.
The kitchen design course focused on a wide variety of subjects pertinent to industry. These subjects included:

About HIA – NKBA Housing Industry Association (HIA)
- Evolution: Established in 1945 as the Building and Allied Trades Association and was renamed HIA in 1968.
- Membership: A national employer body representing over 60,000 members, including builders, manufacturers, architects, and trade specialists.
- Purpose: To enhance industry professionalism and ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient homes.
National Kitchen and Bathroom Association (NKBA)
- Foundation: Formed in the USA in 1971 as an international trade association for the kitchen and bathroom sectors.
- Australian Operations: Partnered under the HIA umbrella in Australia since 1990.
Joint Commitment
- Standards: Promotes elite craftsmanship and ethical business practices through a shared code of ethics.
- Growth: Encourages continuous professional development and qualifications for all members.
